Slave Auction PartyThis is a fundraising event, which in recent years has been held before the 48, so that funds raised can be applied to punch, party supplies, hardware and so forth. The slave auction party will be held this year at "The Squallor" (which in it's distict lack of rotting trash, is very far from being an exceptionally squallid student flat). Bear in mind that the default terms of bondage are generally a couple of hours on the night of the Slave Auction Party (although there are usually "special lots"; people offering a specific service at a time to be agreed latter and so forth) so it helps if you think of a particularly decadent, amusing, and immediate use for your slave(s) before you buy them. However, slaves may refuse to submit to requests or acts which they find exceptionally repulsive or demeaning to their person. Caveat Emptor! Contact Chris for further details, and be generous in your bidding! Inaugural Traditional KAOS Scavenger Hunt: Monday-Friday NightThere is a page for the 48 Hour Party Scavanger Hunt here. Teams are encouraged to let Mr Parsons or Mr Maclagan know their name and membership (if you've managed to track down an honourary degree holder who wants to play, were happy to put up your team with [mystery member] in it, but we'd like a full list of members as soon as you have it. Master Assassin Hunt: Early Friday Evening
If you have any questions or want to register your interest (registration of interest would be just dandy), e-mail Storm 48 Hour Party: Friday-Saturday NightsAlthough in one sense the whole weekend (and Friday afternoon) is the 48 Hour Party, in another sense, the sense of drinking, dancing and getting up to no good, the party will take place on Friday and Saturday night after dark. Traditionally much of the rest of time not given over to specific tomfoolery is spent loafing around at the venue or helping out with the cleaning, recycling and other logistics.
Operation ZingSee also the Operation Zing page. In recent years the host of visitors from out of town that the 48 attracts has been seen as an excellent excuse for a Pacifist Warfare battle on the Saturday, sometime in the early afternoon. This year is no exception, and Carolyn, excercising the Home-Colonel's privilage, has designated this Operation Zing. Chatter around the Officers' Mess suggests that "North vs South" is the favoured theme for the battle, and that a certain command-rank officer not a million miles from here is due to be executed for treason, deserting his post, misappropriation of regimental property and whatever else the drumhead court-martial finds amusing (note to self: next time Rio, not Dunedin). More details (and an Operational page), as they come to hand; contact Major Darkferret, especially if your unit wants to attend. See also the KEA Military Handbook Spontaneous FunThere's likely to be a BBQ at the "Y" at some point, and people often play games during the day. Killmuffin plan on holding a Jam session on Sunday afternoon. However, none of this is intended to stop you making your own fun. The "Y" is within walking distance of the Jellie Park Pool, so if your idea of recuperating after a hard night is to take a swim, you're in luck. | ||||||||||||||||||
