One of the major functions of K.A.O.S. is to run killing rounds.
These rounds provide club members the opportunity to track down their
victims and assassinate them with a variety of harmless - but fun to use -
weapons.
What follows is a brief overview of killing rounds. If you intend playing
in a round you should consult the Assassins' Guide for a
comprehensive treatment of round boundaries and legal weapons.
Basically, you are pretending to be an assassin. The other players are
also pretending to be assassins, but in actuality they are your victims.
You play the game by identifying who your victims are, and then killing
them before they can kill you. The more flamboyant you are in your method
of execution, the better!
Running around campus with waterpistols is an inherently silly activity,
but in order for the game to work please keep in mind the following
principles:
The First Killing Round - The Circles of Death
By long tradition, the first game of the year is always a 'Lists' round.
There are three lists, and each player appears once in each list in a
random position. Each player playing in the round will get three lives,
and will initially have six targets that they may assassinate. As people
are killed, your targets will change, until, hopefully, you are the only
agent left in
your list.
A photograph is required for your dossier form before you can play in the
first round. Photographs will be taken at the end of the First Meeting on
12 March. After then you must provide a passport sized photo at your own
expense.
The first round will start at 8:00 am on Monday March 15. Mercenaries may be
recruited at any time during the round, but no new players may enter the
round after 12 noon on Monday. Inactive players will be removed on Tuesday
and Thursday evening.
The round will finish at 11:30 pm on Friday March 19 - this is in the
middle of the Toga party, which will give everyone an opportunity for honey
traps and duelling. The winner of the round will be announced at midnight,
and some awards will be given out. The "Sitting Duck" award usually goes
to the first player eliminated from the round. Efficient and stylish
players may also be granted the status of Master Assassin. An exceptional
player may be awarded a double-0 code name - a rare event indeed!
Remember! Trust no one! Keep your water pistol handy!
