KAOS: Manifesto 1991 - Operations .....
Last: Induction Contents Next: Killing Rounds

Killing As Organised Sport is a club dedicated to:

  • the enjoyent of life (and death) in all its many facets.
  • the lightening of the atmosphere of the University.
  • taking the mickey out of anything mickeyable.
  • defending the reputation of Canterbury on the battlefield.
  • throwing the wildest parties since the ancient Greeks.

Covert Operations: Killing Rounds.
These are run at least once a month, often weekly, and range from simple trace and terminate assignments to more elaborate and rewarding missions. Water pistols are the standard weapon, but other weapons may be used if approved by Q and the Politburo. To take part in rounds, you must be a member, and will need to sign the sheet posted on our notice board the week before the round begins.

Overt Operations: Battles.
From time to time, K.A.O.S. supremacy is challenged by some bunch of damned imperialist royalists who seem to think some chap Called Alf and the Wizard or Christchurch are the best Things since sliced bread. At these times we add the paper sword and the flour bomb to our arsenal, raise the K.A.O.S. flag and make Mincemeat of the opposition.

Pervert Operations: Parties.
K.A.O.S. parties are infamous enough to have merited a full page expose in Canta (Vol 58, No 7, 1988) with photos. They have to be experienced to be believed, but are open only to K.A.O.S. members.

The K.A.O.S. notice board is presently M.I.A. upon its location being detirmined we will inform you, hopefully on clubs day. All important pieces of information will be posted here and it is suggested that you check the board regularly.

The K.A.O.S. H.Q. (otherwise known as K.A.O.S. corner) is the operational headquarters or K.A.O.S. and is manned by operatives at all times (except for too early in the morning). Members of the Politburo and the Dictator himself may be found here, as well as continuous games of 500. It is situated in the Lower Common Room and your first assignment is to find and secure this H.Q. The brandishing or weapons in the L.C.R. is punishable by whatever extreme measures the assembled crowd calls for. Cleaning ladies are to be deferred to at all times (there's enough scum in K.A.O.S. corner without the litter as well).
