Killing Rounds

"Kill a man, and you are an Assassin. Kill millions of men, and you are a Conqueror. Kill everyone, and you are a God."

Jean Rostand

A KAOS Agent in action

Killing Rounds are the lifeblood of KAOS, the foundation on which KAOS is built. The idea is to have fun, kill your friends and still be able to have a beer with them afterwards.

This is a brief primer for the killing rounds, and is not intended to be a comprehensive guide. The Assassins' Guide is intended as a comprehensive guide to killing rounds. Make sure you read it.

The killing rounds are run by an agent who, for the duration of their round, receives the title Q. If you have any queries to do with the round, you are to seek the advice of Q. If Q is unavailable, then you may seek the advice of the Mistress of Propaganda.

Under normal circumstances, Q will be available in the Lower Common Room of the Students' Association Building. The LCR, as the home of KAOS, is a place where even KAOS agents may relax a little. You have no fear of waterpistols, nor even Kvack, the trained killer attack duck, in the LCR. No sir, nothing to fear at all.

All you need to begin playing in a killing round is your shiny new badge, a waterpistol and a small soft toy to use as a knife. Realistic weapons such as rubber knives were banned, with good reason, some time ago.

An agent may also use contact poisons and letter bombs (as detailed in the Assassins' Guide) freely, although it is generally best to check with Q. Agents may also use Exotic weapons, but must first gain written permission from Q to do so. Exotic weapons range from bombs to bibles, honey traps to woodchippers. Anything new and original will probably require an exotic weapon permit.

Outside, but within the boundaries of campus, you may use any sort of weapon at any time. Indoors, however, ranged weapons are prohibited. This includes "dry" weapons such as Nerf guns.

No kill zones include lectures, tutorials and laboratories, businesses on campus and the Library. There are more, and you need to make sure you know where they are.

The First Killing Round will commence Monday 8th March. This round is a list or circle round. Agents are randomly placed on a list. Their targets are above and below the agent on each list. There are three lists, so the Agent has three lives. The lists wrap around. This means that the Agents on the top and bottom of the lists are after each other. The Mistress of Propaganda is Q for the duration of the round. The round ends at midnight on Saturday 13th March during the Toga Party. This will be followed shortly by a brief Award Ceremony.

"To die will be an awfully big adventure."

I'm going to graduate on time, no matter how long it takes.
I don't suffer from insanity; I enjoy every minute of it.
